The Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State has described President Mohammadu Buhari’s action of allowing Gov. Yahaya Bello to unleash mayhem on the opposition as unhealthy for the nation’s democracy.
In a statement signed and  issued in Lokoja, Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation said it has become a normal occurrence in Kogi state for Gov. Yahaya Bello to always unleash his thugs on the opposition.
The statement by the PDP is in reaction to the disruption of an empowerment program organized by Senator Ahmed Ogembe in Okene.
While noting that this is the second time the governor would be disrupting an empowerment program organized by the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, described the insecurity in the state as one masterminded by the government.
The PDP lamented that while the primary responsibilities of any government as contained in section 14(2), is protection of lives and properties,  lamented that under President Buhari, Gov. Yahaya Bello, has continuously unleash his thugs on the opposition, thus disrupt their activities.
The PDP lamented that if the opposition political parties cannot carryout empowerment program, wondered if an enabling environment would be created for campaigns when the time comes.
The PDP described the governor’s attitude as one that would lead y anarchy, breakdown of law and order in the state if the President Continues to look the other way and allow him continue to coerce, intimidate and harassed members of the PDP in the State.
The PDP described insecurity in Kogi State as one that is caused by the state governor, opined that it may lead to chaos if it is not curtailed, as very soon people by the governor’s breeding of militia against the opposition, resort to self help.
