The Adamawa State Government has debunked insinuations that it received Paris Club Refund from the federal government.
This followed widespread rumours in some quarters recently especially among government workers that the state has received the refund in August 2021.
The Commissioner of Finance and Budget, Doctor Ishaya Dabari clarified while briefing Government House Correspondents in Yola, Friday.
Dr Dabari described the rumours as fake, unfounded and fabricated deliberately by mischief makers to create confusion.
He added that the figures of the Paris Club Refunds being circulated on the social media platforms were the last disbursement, about five years ago.
On the issue of leave grant allowances of workers, the commissioner said the government is willing to pay at any time the finances of the state improved.
Dabari said at the moment the government is faced with financial constraints as after payment of salary and operational cost every month, the leftover funds cannot cater for the payment of leave grant.
The Commissioner urged civil servants to exercise more patience as Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri will soon offset all arrears of their entitlements.
He however revealed that the state government has since commenced implementation of financial autonomy to legislature and judiciary, stressing that the measure will not make any of the arms of government suffer financially.
