Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, criticized Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje over famous dollar videos showing the governor stuffing wads of dollars into his pockets.
Mr. Ganduje fired the first salvo on October 14 during a political rally at Africa House, Government House, Kano, when he accused Mr. Shekarau and Senator Barau Jibrin of “collecting money in Abuja “without doing anything for their people.
“You failed to deliver good projects to your constituents and when you start facing problems you then blame for your work?”
“The money you collect in Abuja has not reached your constituents, so you blame me?” Do you take me as a scapegoat for your problems? Asked Mr. Ganduje rhetorically.
Speaking to a crowd of supporters on Tuesday at his Mundubawa Road residence in Kano, Mr. Shekarau referred to the governor as the “king of the padding” of dollars.
The senator dropped the bomb when he called a popular radio contributor, Alhajiji Nagoda, to tell the people of Kano who is the master of putting dollars in his pocket.
Mr. Nagoda is famous for talking about Mr. Ganduje on local radio about the dollar videos.
“Alhajiji claims to be the head of the collection, but I am calling him now to tell the people of Kano who is the king of the prank [dollars]? ”said Mr. Shekarau, to the applause and joy of the crowd.
