APC Kogi governorship candidate Smart Adeyemi urged Mrs. Ijeoma Osamor, the AIT anchor, to invite Ahmed Ododo, the APC Kogi governorship candidate, to come and join him on a live television debate in order to determine who had more expertise and experience to lead the state, during an interview with AIT News. He continued, “You should bill me for the expenses, and I’ll pay.”
He revealed that he has so much experience in government because he is a three-time senator and also a former national chairman of NUJ. He further stated that the only difference between him and the candidate is that he’s a Christian, while Ahmed Ododo is a Muslim.
According to him, “I ask you to invite Ododo to come and join me in a live television debate; charge us; I’ll pay; and let us weigh who has the knowledge to govern. I’m a three-time senator; I was a former national chairman of NUJ; I’ve served in so many committees; I’ve performed well in the Senate; and I’m good enough to be governor. The only difference will be that maybe I’m not from his tribe, and the worst aspect, which I don’t want to think about, is that maybe I’m not of the same religion as him. I’m a Christian, but let me tell you, no Christian has ever governed Kogi, but that’s secondary.
