Arewa Group Demand Immediate Probe Of Attack On Gov. Yahaya Bell
The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum has condemned in the strongest terms the attack of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Sunday evening
In a press statement released by the President of the group, Shettima Yerima and made available to journalists on Sunday evening,the AYCF demanded for immediate investigation into the attempted assassination
The Statement reads;
The attention of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has been drawn to the broad day attack on the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his way to Abuja on official Assignment.
We are saddened that desperate politicians have taken politics to a point of do or die an assassination attempt on perceived political enemies.
Let it be known that Nigeria is not a banana republic and this act of desperacy by politicians must be condemned by all and sundry.
We therefore condemned in the strongest terms such dastard act and urge security personal to immediately set up an investigative panel to unravel the perpetrators and their sponsors behind such evil act.
The north will not watch and fold their hands and allow such assasination attempt on any of her leaders who have distinguished themselves in all ramifications.
It is our hope that the Federal Government will not sweep this under the carpet, perpetrators must be fish out and made to face the full wrath of the law, “enough is enough”.
