For donation of Oncology and Chemotherapy suites to University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada, under the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC) project, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Bissallah Ekele has praised the Nigeria First Lady, Aisha Buhari, and State First Ladies over the gesture.

The Suites at the Female Surgical ward of the hospital according to the CMD, Professor Bissallah Ekele  will provide the care needed by cancer patients that  throng the Hospital on a daily basis.

‘The modern suites provided by the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC), the pet program of wives of the State Governors will assist the health institution in no small measure.’

He says FLAC initiative in the hospital will be sustained, through concerted efforts of the present Management, to address dearth of equipment and infrastructural development of the tertiary health institution.

‘With the construction, commissioning and donation, it will be easier for medical personnel to attend to cancer patients with all the attention it deserves, using the new Suites to  administer  treatment on the patients.

He solicits for more support from the first ladies, non-governmental oganisations, the private sector as well as public spirited bodies and individuals to address the unending health issues/challenges in Nigeria.

First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC), an association of both past and present Governor’s wives, led by its representatives, the first ladies of Kwara and Kebbi state, Dr. Olufolake Abdulrasaq and Dr. Zanaib S. Bagudu, commissioned the chemotherapy suites at the Female Surgical Ward of UATH, Gwagwalada, recently.
