President Tinubu emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to the nation’s armed forces and their welfare. He stated, “We owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant troops, who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation. In appreciation of the sacrifices of the men and women of our armed forces and to underscore this government’s commitment to their welfare, I have approved the sum of N18 billion for the payment of Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in the line of duty.”

This significant allocation not only honors the fallen heroes but also reflects the government’s dedication to supporting and repositioning the nation’s armed forces. It serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who defend the country, and it underscores the importance of recognizing and supporting their families in their time of need.

As the nation prepares for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, this generous allocation will undoubtedly provide much-needed financial security and support to the families of those who have paid the ultimate price for the safety and security of Nigeria.
